Michelle and David Baldacci serve as leaders
in the fight for nationwide literacy. As well as serving on literacy
boards and assisting literacy organizations across America, the
Baldaccis have established the Wish You Well Foundation® to further
the struggle for literacy and to assist others in the fight.
Established in 2002, the Wish You Well Foundation
is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization with the mission of supporting
family literacy in the United States by fostering and promoting
the development and expansion of new and existing literacy and educational
programs.
David Baldacci
David Baldacci is one of the world’s best-selling fiction
writers. His works have been translated into over thirty-five languages
and sold in more than eighty countries. In addition to co-founding
the Wish You Well Foundation with his wife Michelle, David serves
as a national ambassador for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society
and is active on numerous charitable organizations. He also sits
on numerous charitable and literacy-based boards.
Michelle Baldacci
In addition to being a board member and co-founder of the Wish You
Well Foundation and participating in several community initiatives,
Michelle Baldacci also sits on the board of the Virginia Literacy
Foundation.
David Broome
David Broome is the President and CEO of Transforce, Inc., the largest
workforce solutions firms in the United States, dedicated entirely
to the transportation industry.
Elizabeth Grubbs
Elizabeth Grubbs is President of Carvin Associates, a consulting
firm for nonprofit organizations. She works primarily on fundraising,
organizational, and board and staff development issues. Her volunteer
commitments include serving on the boards of the Virginia Center
for the Book, the Sconset (Land) Trust and the Smithfield Preston
Foundation.
Robert M. Schule
Robert M. Schule is the retired founder of a preeminent lobbying
and government relations firm Wexler, Reynolds, Harrison & Schule
(now called Wexler, Walker) that represents major corporations,
trade associations, state and local governments, indian tribes,
small businesses and charitable organizations before Congress and
the federal government. He was a Special Assistant to President
Jimmy Carter in the White House and has served in a variety of positions
for federal, state, and local officials over his long career. Mr
Schule is associated with the James MacGregor Burns Academy of Leadership
at the University of Maryland and serves on the Boards of The Edmund
S. Muskie School for Public Service and The Seabiscuit Heritage
Foundation.
