The Wish You Well Foundation® appreciates your interest in submitting a funding request. Before you submit your application, please determine whether your request fits the Foundation’s mission. You can review a list of organizations to which the Foundation has previously donated funds. Please feel free to contact us with questions. 

What should a donation request contain?
Your request should include the following materials:

  • Wish You Well Foundation Donation Request Application

  • Single-page proposal that includes -

    • The organization’s history, mission, and contact information

    • A description of the program to be funded

    • The amount of funding requested

    • Organizational Payroll/Salary Breakdown

    • How many people you serve a regular basis

  • Proof of 501(c)(3) status

  • All requests must align with the Foundation’s mission: "Supporting adult and family literacy in the United States by fostering new and promoting existing adult literacy and educational programs."

When will donations be made?
The Wish You Well Foundation makes donations at various times throughout the year. The Foundation will notify an organization via email upon receipt of the request, and then again after the Board of Directors makes its funding decisions.

What is the average donation amount given by the Foundation?
The Wish You Well Foundation reviews donation requests with a wide array of funding needs. Most requests range from $200 to $10,000. Organizations are reminded to base their requested amount on the program's unique needs for funding.

Are there any restrictions?
In general, the Wish You Well Foundation does not fund:

  • Donations to individuals

  • Donations to candidates for political office

  • Donations for building or construction projects

  • Donations for debt reduction or capital campaigns

  • Donations for graduate or post-graduate research

If awarded, is there any follow-up required?
The Wish You Well Foundation asks organizations receiving donations to submit a follow-up report to the Foundation no later than one year after receipt of funding. Reports should include overall project outcomes and results as well as any supplemental materials, e.g., event photographs, printed materials, newsletters, etc. Please submit your follow-up report to:

PLEASE NOTE: Our primary focus is to support nonprofit organizations in the United States that teach adults the literacy skills they need to communicate, grow, and thrive within their communities. We do not fund youth programs. Please review the list of previously funded programs on our "Programs Funded" page.
